Susan's Background

• Carried out Human-centered research in the E.R. Department of the University of Chicago Medicine, Chicago, United States to deliver robust and substantial recommendations and prototypes that were tested and implemented within weeks to improve the hospital’s Level 1 Trauma and Resuscitation Bay’s processes and space.

• Carried out design research in one world’s top tomato producing countries to uncover deep-rooted systemic drivers of post-harvest loss in tomato production. After extensive research spanning 8 weeks, 6 states, hundreds of participants and a handful of methodologies, we shared findings, insights and recommendations and prototypes with our global partners. Along with others’ efforts, the project has been able to increase tomato production from 1.7 million tons to 2.3 million tons.

• Worked with one of Nigeria's prominent banks to uncover opportunity areas, through qualitative and quantitative research to validate market’ need and used findings to bring a new financial product to market.

• Leading teams to spearhead various design research projects from research plan to delivery of prototype, for companies across agricultural, educational, and financial sectors, identifying the best mix of methods for remote and in person, quantitative and qualitative research.

• Facilitating design workshops with teams across companies of various sizes and sectors, resulting in a tangible mindset shift to improve culture of innovation.
